Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s the determination and
commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to
excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.
— Mario Andretti
Dear Amateurs,
With all of the enthusiasm of a kid just getting out of school for the
summer, I would like to welcome you to the 2008 edition of the
Palomino World Championship Show. The time has come after long hours
in the practice pen for us to pack our best show outfits, load up and
head for Tulsa. I hope that you have made your entries or are coming
to watch, and I will have the opportunity to meet you there.
I would like to share some very exciting and long overdue news, this
year our World Show will be awarding Gist trophy buckles in addition
to our traditional trophies to the winners of each of the Amateur and
Open classes, and don’t forget the great Sundowner jackets as well for
each of the Amateur World Champions.
Look at the
list of prizes that will be presented to our all around winners. The
Amateur Golden Horse will receive a trophy saddle made especially for
the PHBA by Four Winds Saddlery, a $525 gift certificate from

We have worked
to make the world show schedule more amateur friendly this year for
braiding, banding, etc. We knew it would be impossible to make it
perfect for everyone, but tried our best to make it enjoyable for our
exhibitors. Let us know what you think of the changes, and if there is
something else we can do to improve the schedule for next year.
*Please remember that the Original PHBA Certificate must be presented
along with 12 month Negative coggins and 30 day Health Certificate
before your packet containing the Back number will be released at the
