PHBA World Show Judges Hiring Procedure

 Amended April 23, 2005

1)     Ballots are included in the World Show notices, this is for the following year

2)     Results are tabulated in Excel spread sheet

3)     Spread sheet is sent to the Judges Committee

4)     Judges Committee rank a list for youth, amateur, open

5)     Judges Committee list is forwarded to the PHBA Executive Board

6)     Executive Board reviews list and makes modifications, additions or deletions if appropriate

7)     Executive Board votes to empowers President and President-Elect to work with General Manager

8)     Criteria for actual hiring is the judge must

     a) have judged at least one PHBA show

     b) not judged any division of the World Show in the last three years

     c) must be an approved judge one year

     d) no duplicate states residents in the same division

     e) at least two judges hold NRHA judges cards to judge the NRHA classes

     f) will be approved judge in the year they judge the world (ie)

1)     took open rulebook test in appropriate time frame

2)     membership current at time of hiring

3)     judged one show in two years

4)     not in front of CRC for possible disciplinary action

5)     not in front of Judges Committee for possible disciplinary action

9)     General Manager calls the open list first, amateur list second and youth list third.  

10) As the judges accept each position, GM begins to make an Excel chart showing division they have accepted and what state they resided in

11)  Judges are allowed to move to different divisions if they request since all PHBA judges are approved to judge all PHBA approved classes.  (Judges sometimes ask to move to different divisions because they plan to show after the youth.  Or sometimes they have client or relative that wishes to show in open if they judge amateur or vise versa.)

12) The spread sheet is faxed to the President, President-Elect and Judges Committee Chairperson

13) Based on item 10, the number 2 person on the list receives a phone call as long as they are not from the same state as the number one person on each list.

14) This is repeated until all positions are filled on each list
